Khalifa Yassin was the first contractor engaged by ETC. He has a full-scale operation employing 284 people working in Silviculture, Harvesting, Haulage and Sawmilling in Mborizanga plantation. Khalifa started working for ETC in 2014 as a security guard. He was formerly a soldier in the SPLA.
Richard Batista joined ETC in 2015 as a contractor. He runs a full operation in Yaboa employing over 260 people in Harvesting, Haulage and Sawmilling. Richard has been running a high-volume sawmill in Yaboa that has been the pillar of ETC’s production in 2017. Richard was formerly a mechanic in Yambio and a soldier in the SPLA.
Emmanuel is a Sawmill and Harvesting Contractor. He was previously in charge of the main sawmill in Mborizanga and has now taken charge on the sawmill in Nangondi Plantation. Before becoming a contractor in 2016 Emmanuel was employed by ETC as a supervisor of the DLE sawmill in the Agro-Industrial Complex. Emmanuel has employed 82 people in his operation.
Charles is a Silviculture, Harvesting and Haulage contractor based in Yaboa plantation. Charles’ operation employees 64 people most of whom are members of the Nzara community. Charles joined ETC as a contractor in May 2016. He was previously working as a supervisor for another contractor. Charles has also served as a secretary in the office of the county commissioner.
Dabart is a dedicated Silviculture contractor who joined ETC in November 2014. His silviculture operation employs 145 people working in the nursery, Nangondi and Yabua plantations. Since joining ETC Dabart has planted over 89Ha of new teak plantation and is currently managing over 300 hectares of coppiced areas. Dabart has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Forestry from Makerere University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Forestry from the same University.
